About us

Hello,

My name is Jason Croden and I am the director of Ashwood Tree Care. I’m also a certified tree surgeon (well, actually the correct terminology would be a certified ‘arborist’ but everyone calls me a tree surgeon so I’ll stick with it). I set up Ashwood Tree Care back in the spring of 1999 when I was young and agile (I still am…..ish), and since then have been helping my clients to maintain their trees, hedges and shrubs. Over the years we’ve built up a pretty good custom base which is still growing so I like to think that this reflects the quality of our services, after all if they didn’t like us then they wouldn’t call us back, right?. What Sets us apart from our competitors?

Now this gets me because I don’t think any person or business should blow their own trumpet and declare how great they so I’m going to do this differently, I’m going to read some of our customers reviews that are checked and verified by third party ‘Checkatrade’ and list some of the points I feel will matter to you, so here it goes:

We are found to be polite, friendly, hard working and efficient.
We are also very knowledgeable, open to discussion and competitive with costs.
We are reliable, prompt and very professional.
And last but not least we are very clean and tidy (Ok, I am gonna say one thing, I have a bit an OCD when it comes to tidying up and we will not leave any mess anywhere, although it’s bit of an issue for me it’s great for our customers so I’m not going to seek medical help for it just yet!)

Now there is more to be read in the reviews if your curiosity gets the better of you and you want to take a look, but there is something else that I’d like to mention, and that is the fact that I listen to my customers, they tell me what they want and I listen, if I feel there may be a better or more cost effective way of doing things then I will present them with my opinion, if my opinion isn’t wanted then I’ll shut up and do as I’m told. After all, you are the boss!!

Response from Ashwood Tree Care:

I was taken aback by this feedback I asked the customer if they were happy at the end of the job, there was no mention of the tidying up or the tree being cut back too drastic. We had agreed that due to the fast growing nature of the Eucalyptus tree that we would prune it back to the previous points and thin the canopy to allow more light to penetrate the crown as the foliage was very dense and blocking light from the house and garden. I advised the customer that initially the tree would look bare but would grow back and look better for it. Regarding the tidying up, the garden and roadside were left cleaner than when we arrived although admittedly the beds were difficult to get spotless as they were overgrown. I'm a little disappointed as I feel that more could have been done if something was said and not left until a month after work was completed. I've also tried to contact the customer to discuss what has been done and my call was once rejected when I identified myself and my messages not returned. Nevertheless I appreciate all feedback good or bad as it helps me to understand my customers better.
